KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Center) central officials have not yet been finalized. As there are more candidates, the party’s chairperson, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ will be under pressure to choose an office bearer.

As a result, the central officials, who were supposed to be 15 members, will now be 21 members. There will be seven deputy general secretaries and nine secretaries.

Only seven leaders have filed claims with the General Secretary. According to a member of the standing committee, seven leaders presented their claims at the party headquarters in Parisdanda during the standing committee meeting.

Along with Dev Gurung, he claims that Barsaman Pun, Janardhan Sharma, Girirajmani Pokharel, Haribol Gajurel, Shakti Basnet, and Pampha Bhusal are present at the meeting. “They all said they have aspirations,” the leader told Makalukhbar. The chairperson’s comrade is difficult to reconcile.

The main contenders for general secretary, Barsaman and Janardan, suggested to president Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ that the message that the office bearers were not finalized because of them had gone out too soon.

Following this, Prachanda, who was about to finalize the list of officials, had to correct the list several times. He has not yet been able to complete the final list.

According to the leaders, he finalized the names of the officials on Thursday evening by announcing the final list.

However, after hearing the leaders’ aspirations at today’s standing committee meeting, they decided that it should be finalized again. The leaders told Prachanda directly at today’s meeting that they have the right to be general secretary.
