Spanish young defender signed to Manchester City

KATHMANDU: Manchester City, an English club, has signed Spanish young defender Sergio Gomez. Sergio, a 21-year-old defender from Belgian club Anderlecht, was signed by City for 11 million euros on a four-year contract.

Sergio is a player who grew up in the Catalan club Barcelona’s academy. From 2010 to 2018, he honed his skills in Barcelona. He joined the German club Borussia Dortmund in 2018 after playing for Barcelona’s reserve team.

Gomez will be wearing the number 21 jersey at City. This number was previously worn by Spanish midfielder David Silva, who won four Premier Leagues and ten other trophies with City.
