Karnali’s new minister takes oath

KATHMANDU: Bir Bahadur Shahi, the Karnali State government’s newly appointed minister of industry, tourism, forest, and environment, took the oath of office and secrecy today.

Tilak Pariyar, Chief of Karnali, administered the oath of office to the new minister.

Shahi is a member of the Karnali State Assembly who represents the Dolpa State constituency (B).

Last Thursday, Chief Minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi appointed him to the post.

The post was vacant when the term of outgoing Humla minister Chhiring Damdul Lama (Karchen) expired. Lama, a non-parliamentarian, was appointed minister on Feb 6, 2022.
