Gyanendra Shahi began election campaign after reaching Jumla
Political activity in the district has increased since his announcement of candidacy.
KATHMANDU: RPP spokesperson Gyanendra Shahi reached in Jumla and began election preparations. Shahi announced a few days ago that he would run for federal office from Jumla. His home district is also Jumla.
On Friday, activists and well-wishers greeted Shahi at Jumla Airport with Nepali flags and flower garlands.
Leader Shahi has arrived in Khalanga, the headquarters of his home district Jumla, for the first time since announcing his candidacy. Political activity in the district has increased since his announcement of candidacy.
RPP is extremely low in Jumla. According to the results of the previous local level, RPP received only about 450 votes. RPP received 16 votes in Shahi’s ward.
In the 2074 federal election, RPP would join the alliance. Gajendra Bahadur Mahat of the Maoist Center won the election by securing 22,173 votes on behalf of the Left Alliance in the federal election. Devendra Bahadur Shahi of Nepali Congress, who came second, got 14 thousand 149 votes.
Dilli Prasad Kafle of the Nepal Labor Farmers Party received 2,718 votes. Bin Budha of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party received 380 votes, the then-Federal Socialist Forum received 159 votes, and Harihar Choulagai, who later became an independent, received 152 votes.
Shahi, the campaign coordinator for ‘Hamro Nepal, Hami Nepali,’ joined the RPP last Falgun (February/March).
