Weather: Chances of heavy rain in these areas
There will be light to moderate showers in the country's hilly areas this afternoon.
KATHMANDU: It has been raining in different parts of the country since last night. Gandaki and Lumbini states have normal to complete change in the morning, while the remaining states have normal change. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is falling in Gandaki and Lumbini states, as well as one or two locations in State 1, Bagmati State, and Karnali State.
According to the Department of Water and Meteorology, there will be light to moderate showers in the country’s hilly areas this afternoon. In some areas of the country, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is possible. Heavy rain with thunder and lightning is also possible in one or two areas of Sudurpaschim State.
The department predicts that rain will fall in patches across the country tonight. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is possible in some areas of State 1, Lumbini State, Karnali State, and Sudurpaschim State, as well as one or two other states.
There is a risk of soil erosion, landslides, and gegran drift in these areas due to the possibility of heavy rains. Furthermore, the department advises people to be cautious because the water level in rivers and canals may rise, disrupting daily life.
