NMB Bank receives $25 million loan from IFC
NMB Bank is the only bank in Nepal to have received three consecutive IFC loans over a four-year period.
KATHMANDU: NMB Bank has received a third periodic loan from IFC, a World Bank Group member, with a loan investment of $25 million.
Sunil KC, Chief Executive Officer of NMB Bank Limited, and Hector Gomez Ang, South Asia Regional Director of International Finance Corporation, signed the agreement.
In the current difficult economic environment, this loan will aid in increasing credit investment in the manufacturing sector.
NMB Bank is the only bank in Nepal to have received three consecutive IFC loans over a four-year period.
The bank believes that by extending this credit line, it will be possible to fill the gap in the small and medium credit sector caused by COVID-19 and to encourage new entrepreneurs in these sectors.
NMB Bank has been named “Bank of the Year Asia 2021” by The Financial Times, the London-based “The Banker” magazine.
This magazine has named NMB Bank ‘Bank of the Year Nepal’ four times in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021.
NMB Bank currently provides high-level services across the country through 201 branches, 138 ATMs, and 11 extension counters.
