In Pics: Demonstration at Maitighar demanding repeal of forest regulations

KATHMANDU: The Community Forest Consumers’ Association demonstrated today in Maitighar, claiming that the recently passed forest regulation 2079 has stripped the district bank of the rights of the community forest consumer committee.

They claim that in the Forest Regulations 2079, the Forest Act 2076 took away the rights of the Community Forest Consumer Committee.

With slogans such as repeal the forest policy 2079, repeal the new ban on community forest, repeal the ban on forest federalism, repeal the anti-women forest regulations 2079, and repeal the thirteenth tax on community forest, the protest rally from Maitighar reached New Baneshwor and turned into a corner meeting.
