Fourth Monday of Shrawan: Lord Shiva is being worshiped in a special way
Mondays in the month of Shrawan are Shiva's favorite days.
KATHMANDU: Hindu women worship Lord Shiva on the fourth Monday of the month of Shrawan (July/August).
On Mondays in the month of Shrawan, it is customary for women to go to the Shiva temple early in the morning to worship Shiva in the hope that their wishes will be granted. Women, in particular, dress in green, wear bangles and mehndi, worship Lord Shiva, and fast.
Mondays in the month of Shrawan are Shiva’s favorite days. As a result, every Monday in Shrawan, devotees dress in red, green, and yellow clothes and bangles to worship Shiva. It is a religious belief that fasting all day and worshiping Shiva will grant one’s wishes.
What should or should not be eaten while fasting?
You can eat potatoes and curd potatoes while fasting on Monday. Similarly, if you don’t feel like eating after the fast, you can make atta roti and eat it with potatoes.
You can eat fruits and drink fruit juices on fasting days. While it is good to fast while fasting, some things can be eaten for those who have health problems. During fasting, sabudana (tapioca pearls) can be mixed with pure milk and eaten as a pure dish. During fasting, the body needs more water, so it is necessary to drink plenty of water.
While fasting, you can eat soaked almonds in milk. While fasting, avoid eating anything oily or spicy. Similarly, pregnant women should avoid fasting. Fasting is not recommended for people who have heart, liver, lung, kidney, diabetes, or high blood pressure.
