Press Union’s National Journalism award to Poudel & Bastola

KATHMANDU: Ramesh Poudel and Rabindra Bastola will receive the Nepal Press Union’s national journalism award.

The award selection committee decided to give Poudel the award for 2077 and Bastola the award for 2079. Poudel has long been a journalist and is currently involved in Nepali Congress politics, whereas Bastola is involved in a variety of social organizations.

Bastola is the editor of Himdut magazine and Poudel is the executive director of Radio Barahi Pokhara.

The coordinator was Gangadhar Parajuli, and the talent selection committee included Sarita Timilsina Pangeni, Bodhraj Karki, Bijay Bhandari, and the press union’s acting chairperson Rabina Ale and secretary Pradeep Paudel. Since 2072, the union has given the award every two years after establishing a 12 lakh rupee renewable fund.

The award consists of 33,333 rupees and a certificate of honor. Secretary Pradeep Poudel stated that the year 2077, which was halted due to the COVID-19 epidemic, will be distributed jointly this year.
