An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale occurred at 5:26 a.m., according to the National Seismology and Research Center.
The earthquake’s epicenter was near Belkotgarhi in the Nuwakot district.
The earthquake, according to Dr. Mukund Bhattarai, a seismologist at the center, was an aftershock of the 2015 Gorkha earthquake. The tremor was felt as far away as Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Dhading, and the Kathmandu valley.
