Minister Khand’s concern for flood and landslide rescue and relief
Home Minister Khand took information on the landslide in Malika Rural Municipality-2 Rhoom.
KATHMANDU: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has taken information from the appropriate agencies regarding the damage caused by floods and landslides in various parts of the country, as well as the relief and rescue efforts underway.
Home Minister Khand took information on the landslide in Malika Rural Municipality-2 Rhoom, the road obstruction caused by the landslide in Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality-29 Kerabari of Chitwan, and the efforts being made to rescue and relieve the damage caused by the landslide in Chitwan, as well as to open the road.
Gandaki State Police Deputy Inspector General Ram Dutta Joshi, Myagdi Chief District Officer Chiranjibi Rana, Chitwan Chief District Officer Asman Tamang, Myagdi Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Tilak Bharati, and others have been briefed on the incident.
Last night, 7 people went missing in Myagdi’s Malika Rural Municipality-2 Rhoom, including BK, his wife, two sons, and a daughter, when the house of two people, including Gham Bahadur BK, was washed away. Rana, the Chief District Officer of Myagdi, stated that two of them were rescued in an injured state, two bodies were found, and the rest are still missing.
He said that the place where the landslide occurred was in a remote location, three and a half hour’s walk from the capital. He said that the work of rescuing the injured and searching for the missing is continuing.
A landslide in Bharatpur Metropolitan-29 Kerabari under the Narayangadh-Mugling road section, on the other hand, has closed the road. According to Tamang of Chitwan, there is no way to open the blocked road immediately because the flood is still flowing.
He also stated that landslides had occurred at 20 and 21 kilometers of the Mugling-Narayangadh road section. Tamang stated that the vehicles have now been halted at Jugedi from the Narayangadh side and that efforts are being made to transport those stranded due to landslides to Chitwan using government vehicles. He also stated that a notice has been issued to change the route as the road obstruction cannot be removed immediately.
