KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, the CPN (UML), has demonstrated against the government. On Tuesday, the UML chanted slogans from various locations in Kathmandu’s Basanatpur district, claiming that corruption and other issues have grown in recent years.
Protesters marched to Shantibakita from Basantapur. During the demonstration, they even chanted slogans like “increased inflation and corruption, mafia government, not people,” and “control rising inflation, punish the corrupt.”
The protesters continued to march despite the rain. Some carried umbrellas, while others carried banners and began shouting slogans. UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel attended the protestors’ meeting. He also used an umbrella to address the rally.
