Claimed that there are over 3000 phony voters in Budanilkantha Municipality

KATHMANDU: Congressdemonstrated at the district election office in Kathmandu for a fair investigation into the inclusion of names on the voter list based on forged migration documents in Kathmandu’s Budhanilkantha Municipality.

They demonstrated that they had submitted proof to the Election Commission that over three thousand phony voters voted in Budhanilkantha Municipality in the elections from 2074 to 2079, and that the investigation was effective.

According to Badri Bhattarai, Regional Secretary of Congress Kathmandu Region No. 4, the demonstration was held to draw attention to the fact that the names of phony voters should be removed from the upcoming elections, as well as to take action against those involved in the work done.

He stated that government seals were being misused within the municipality, and that the office secretary’s signature was being used, and that they demanded that action be taken in accordance with the Criminal Code.

He stated that the protest will continue until their demands are met. Previously, Congress Kathmandu Region No. 4 filed a complaint with the Election Commission alleging that names were included in the voter list in Budhanilkantha Municipality based on forged immigration documents.
