Janardhan Sharma appointed Finance Minister

According to sources, he will take the oath of office and secrecy from the President today.

KATHMANDU: Janardhan Sharma has been appointed Finance Minister by President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

In accordance with Article 76 (9) of the Nepalese Constitution, President Bhandari appointed Sharma as Minister of Finance on the recommendation of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Sharma has been appointed by the President’s Office to take over the Ministry of Finance, which was previously held by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Previously, Finance Minister Sharma resigned after becoming embroiled in the tax rate revision controversy. Following that, a special parliamentary committee was formed to investigate him. Sharma was found to be innocent by the investigation committee.
