17 days, 75 hours & 23 meetings of investigation: No any conclusion

KATHMANDU: The report of the parliamentary special committee formed to investigate then-Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma has been submitted.
The Parliamentary Inquiry Special Committee has reported to the House of Representatives on allegations of unauthorized persons entering the Ministry of Finance and tax rate manipulation during budget construction.
Laxman Lal Karna, a member of the committee, presented the committee’s final report to the House of Representatives on Friday, stating that the study report was completed in 75 hours after 23 meetings over the first 10 days and seven additional days.
He stated that during that time, documents related to budget creation were obtained and studied, CCTV issues were discussed with police laboratory experts, and a report was prepared following discussions with the relevant parties.
What is in the report?
The 129-page report is divided into 5 paragraphs and 8 schedules. The report includes statements and question-and-answer sessions with all relevant Ministry of Finance officials, including the outgoing Finance Secretary and Annapurna Post correspondent, as well as Finance Minister Janardan Sharma.
The CCTV footage from the Ministry of Finance was recovered during the investigation, according to the report.
Similarly, the report concluded that while reviewing CCTV footage, no unauthorized persons were seen entering the ministry, and the context of unauthorized persons’ influence in changing tax rates was irrelevant.
