Foreign Minister Khadka responds to a question about SPP in Parliament
The government decided not to advance further SPP on June 20.
KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka to respond to questions about the US State Partnership Program raised in Parliament and in the public (SPP).
The government decided not to advance further SPP on June 20. The government has been questioned in parliament and publicly about its failure to send a letter informing the US of the decision.
On July 20, CPN-UML MP Bhim Rawal stated that the US was not informed of the decision to withdraw from the SPP and dubbed the protest ‘Rosthrak Occupy’ (standing on the rostrum and constantly demanding to send a letter to the US, urging the government to rule). The meeting was adjourned after Rawal occupied the rostrum.
After repeated questioning, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota ruled on July 21 to inform the government about the SPP’s activities.
Foreign Minister Khadka will respond to the same ruling in the House of Representatives on Friday. The meeting has already begun.
