KATHMANDU: The Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality has provided vehicles for people with disabilities.

Vehicles have been provided so that disabled people can easily mingle with the community and attend public events where their voices can be heard.

Swav Lamban Jeevan Paddati Kendra has received the vehicle. The vehicle was handed over to the center’s chairperson, Hem Gurung, by Municipal Corporation chief Dhanraj Acharya and deputy chief Manjudevi Gurung.

According to Acharya, they are responsible and serious about making people with physical, mental, and intellectual disabilities’ lives easier.

He thanked the metropolitan for its support as public transport is not accessible for people with severe and complete disabilities.

Elevators will be installed in the vehicle as per requirement and seats will be arranged accordingly. The Metropolitan Corporation has provided 18-seater vehicles.
