Locals not permitted valley’s garbage dump at Bancharedanda

KATHMANDU: The residents of Bancharedanda refused to allow the valley’s garbage dump.

Residents of the landfill site Bancharedanda have declared that they will not allow Kathmandu Valley garbage to be disposed forever beginning August 17.

The Landfill Site Concern Committee announced this at a press conference in Kathmandu on Thursday, claiming that Singha Durbar and Bagh Durbar conspired by failing to implement the agreement.

Sriram Dhungana, the committee’s coordinator, and Sanat Upreti, the deputy coordinator, issued an 8-page statement in which they announced the announcement.

The memorandum was submitted to Urban Development Minister Metmani Chaudhary on Wednesday, according to Dhungana, Coordinator of the Landfill Site Concern Committee.
