Ward chairperson of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan arrested

KATHMANDU: The ward chairperson of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan city of Kailali’s ward number 12 has been arrested.

The police arrested ward chairperson Sher Bahadur Mahara from Ward No. 12 Jugeda of the sub-metropolitan city in a cheque dishonor case.

He was taken into custody and produced in Kailali District Court, according to the Kailali District Police Office.

Acting Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Prakash Joshi of the District Police Office Kailali stated that after the court issued an order requiring the ward chairperson Mahara to appear in the cheque dishonor case, the police arrested him.

The plaintiff, Krishna Kumar Rana, had filed a case against ward chairperson Mahara, according to the police.
