KATHMANDU: Hemraj Rai, a member of the Janata Samajwadi Party’s (JSP) central executive committee, has resigned.

On July 25, he resigned. Rai, as previously reported, is preparing to return to UML. He is in discussions with UML leaders about this.

Rai left the UML along with the UML’s then-vice chairperson, Ashok Rai. He ran as a candidate for the ruling coalition in the National Assembly by-elections held last Magh (January/February).

But, Sonam Gelzen Sherpa of UML defeated him.
