KATHMANDU: A demonstration was held outside the Nepal Red Cross Society’s national meeting place in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu.
Members of the Red Cross’s outgoing board of directors demonstrated outside the meeting, which was attended by Bagmati Chief Minister Rajendra Pandey.
A demonstration was held outside the Red Cross meeting place to discuss the issue of ‘Nepal Red Cross Society’s problems in the current context and future roadmap.’ On June 15, the government removed Netra Prasad Timsina and appointed Sudarshan Prasad Nepal to head an ad hoc committee.
The Supreme Court has ordered that the government’s decision not be carried out. However, Sudarshan Prasad Nepal’s leadership is defying the order. The outgoing board of directors has expressed their displeasure with this.
Even after the court order, the working committee, which included Timsina, was denied access to the central office. There was a fight going on in the Red Cross office at the time.
