CCTV Footage Case: Police submitted report
The Ministry of Finance reported to the committee that the footage from the budget formulation day had been deleted.
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police Forensic Lab has submitted a report on CCTV footage from the Ministry of Finance to the parliamentary committee investigating the involvement of unauthorized persons in budget formulation.\
On Monday, the committee received the report.
The Ministry of Finance reported to the committee that the footage from the budget formulation day had been deleted.
On July 20, the committee sent the device to the lab for recovery. Surendra Aryal, Committee Secretary, stated that the report had been received. The committee meeting will open the report that was received under seal.
The committee, which found no concrete facts in the statements of the political leadership and employees, is planning additional investigations based on the footage findings.
On May 28, the committee requested footage of the budget drafting room at its first meeting. Finance had only provided the committee with footage from previous months.
All CCTV-related systems were made available to the committee after a second request. Following receipt of the device, the committee made a decision after consulting with subject matter experts.
The committee also demanded footage of the Singha Durbar’s two main entrances on Sunday.
