Wife killed by husband

KATHMANDU: A woman has been allegedly murdered by her husband. 54-year-old Kanchimaya Limbu of Gaigude in Phungling Municipality-9 was beaten to death by her husband.

The husband, 56-year-old Bal Bahadur Sanwa Limbu, allegedly beat up his wife Kanchimaya during a minor domestic dispute, according to the district police office. She was killed on the spot in the Friday evening incident.

According to the preliminary police investigation, the Limbu died after being struck by the wooden handle of a khukuri, a domestic cutting tool. Police stated that more information would be available following the autopsy.

Sanwa has been detained by police, and an investigation is ongoing.
