KATHMANDU: Today marks the 44th anniversary of the founding general secretary of the Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Lal Shrestha.
The Nepal Communist Party was founded in 2006 BS by Pushpa Lal with the goal of abolishing feudalism and establishing people’s rights.
In 2005 BS, he translated and published the World Communist Manifesto in Nepali. Pushpa Lal, who was born in Bhangeri Village of Ramechhap district on 1981 BS Ashar 15 (June 28, 1924) from father Bhakta Lal and mother Tulsimaya Shrestha, died on 2035 BS Shrawan 7 (July 22, 1978) during treatment at Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital in India.
Wreaths were placed on Pushpa Lal’s statue at Tamsipakha Bishnumatid in Kathmandu on Memorial Day. The wreath-laying ceremony was attended by CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and other top leaders.
