Election date to be announced soon: PM Deuba
Prime Minister Deuba stated that there has been an increase in defamation recently and that only fair journalism can strengthen the country and democracy.
KATHMANDU: Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairperson of the Nepali Congress and Prime Minister, has announced that the date of the upcoming House of Representatives and State Assembly elections will be announced soon.
Inaugurating the ninth national convention of the Nepal Press Union today in Hetauda, he stated that the government is preparing for the general elections. According to Prime Minister Deuba, “The government is getting ready for the elections.
Use your pen to make the election clean, fearless and dignified. Only unbiased journalism benefits the country and democracy.” He emphasized the need for journalists to write about political stability.
Prime Minister Deuba stated that there has been an increase in defamation recently and that only fair journalism can strengthen the country and democracy. “The role of the press is important in Nepal’s movement for change,” he said.
Recalling the importance of the media in COVID-19, he stated that only truthful information will allow the country to develop.
Prime Minister Deuba stated that clean journalism is necessary to strengthen democracy and that Congress is always committed to democracy and free expression.
