KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has urged people to keep the gradable and non-gradable garbage separately in their houses for a week.
Garbage collection from Kathmandu has become irregular, and it will be stopped for a week beginning today.
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has issued a notice stating that waste management work has been halted for a week due to the repair of approximately two kilometers of the road leading from Sisdol in Nuwakot to the Bancharedanda landfill site.
In addition, garbage collection in the valley has been halted for a week.
The landfill site was only open from 4 a.m. to 12 p.m. due to road maintenance. As a result, the valley’s garbage could not be picked up on a regular basis.
