Six year-old minor raped in Bardiya, 40-year-old Shriram arrested

KATHMANDU: Shriram Chamar, 40, of Gulariya Municipality-12 in Bardiya, who fled after raping a minor, has been apprehended. Chamar is accused of raping a 6-year-old minor in the same location on March 29, when no one was home.

After receiving information about the incident, a team from the district police office was dispatched to arrest Chamar, but he fled the scene. On July 18, he was apprehended while hiding while authorities searched for him.

The district court has extended the deadline in the extortion case against Chamar, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Suryaprakash Subedi, and necessary investigations are being conducted.
