Educational Consultant submitted a 12-point MoU to Minister of Education

KATHMANDU: Devendra Paudel, Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, has received a memorandum from the educational consultant.

On behalf of the Educational Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN), a 12-point memorandum was submitted on Tuesday under the leadership of outgoing president Bishnuhari Pandey.

It has been requested through a memorandum to address issues such as service operation approval, educational counseling, language teaching, and the justification of a protection fund (bond) to the center for conducting language tests.

It was requested to take immediate necessary steps for the overall management of the educational consultancy sector. The event was attended by Vice Chairperson Sesharaj Bhattarai, Secretary General Deepakraj Bhusal, Advisor Lokendra Subedi, Member Philip DC, and Educational Consultant Prem Chapagain.

These are the demands

1. Regarding to be managed with separate regulations.
2. Regarding acceptance of service operation.
3. Regarding branch operations.

4. Regarding the justification of protection fund (guarantee) for educational counseling, language teaching and language test conducting center.
5. Foreign Study Permit (NOC) -(Japan and other countries) and various matters related to NOC.
6. Regarding insurance of educational fees.
7. Regarding the arrangement of the student welfare fund.
8. Regarding foreign investment.
9. Regarding the immediate closure of the counseling and admission process being done through the unauthorized online portal.

10. Regarding the need to stop doing business through contact offices and franchises of foreign organizations.
11. Regarding the need for improvement in the current system of medical education and common entrance examination.
12. Regarding the need to reconsider the training related to educational consultants through Training Institute for Technical Instruction (TITI).
