KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has begun preparations to install GPS on public vehicles operating in the valley.

Balen Shah, Mayor of Metropolitan, discussed the plan of offering with Mohammad Ishtiaq Rai, Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.

Mayor Shah requested assistance in his plan during his meeting with the minister.

“They are interested in installing GPS in valley public vehicles, making tracker riders, or establishing a mechanism to reach a safe destination,” Minister Rai said, adding, “We will provide technical support for that.”

Mayor Shah informed Minister Rai that a 35-day notice had been issued to remove the commercial complex’s underground parking lot, which was being used for other purposes, and asked him to assist the ministry in removing it.
