Newly elected Deputy Speaker Bhusal assumes office
She expressed her commitment to fulfilling all of the Deputy Speaker's responsibilities for the Constitution's implementation after reaching Singh Durbar and assuming office.
KATHMANDU: Pushpa Bhusal, the newly elected Deputy Speaker, took the oath of office and secrecy and went to the Deputy Speaker’s office at Singha Durbar to take office.
She expressed her commitment to fulfilling all of the Deputy Speaker’s responsibilities for the Constitution’s implementation after reaching Singh Durbar and assuming office.
“After becoming the deputy speaker, I feel that the responsibility has increased, I will work honestly as expected from the post of deputy speaker for the implementation of the constitution”, she said during the assumption of office, “I will help the House grow in an effective manner during my four-month tenure.”
Earlier today, in the presence of President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota administered the oath of office and secrecy to her in a ceremony organized by Speaker Sapkota at Shital Niwas.
The House of Representatives met on Friday and elected Nepali Congress MP Bhusal as Deputy Speaker. She secured 148 votes and was elected Deputy Speaker.
