UML claims that M Adhikari is not governor

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, the CPN (UML), has spoken out on the governorship controversy.

The UML has issued an explanation, while M Adhikari, the Finance and Planning Minister, is being chastised for being the governor.

The UML provided this explanation in response to Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari’s letter requesting that the CPN-UML clarify that the person is not himself.

UML central office secretary Bhishma Adhikari has said that Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari is not in the finance department and there is no policy to keep those in government service in any department of the party.

Although the explanation letter states that M Adhikari is not the governor, the UML has not made public who he really is.
