Pedestrian dies after being hit by a motorcycle

KATHMANDU: A pedestrian was killed this morning after being hit by a motorcycle in Saptari’s Rupani Rural Municipality-6 Birendra Bazar along the East-West Highway.

Deep Narayan Mehta, 55, of Rupani Rural Municipality-6, has been identified as the deceased.

A motorcycle numbered Sa 4 Pa 1334 on the way from west to east collided with pedestrian Mehta. He was seriously injured in the collision and was taken to Rajbiraj’s Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital for treatment.

The injured pedestrian died during treatment, said police.
