Fire at Bhrikuti Mandap put out in five hours (with photos)
To control the fire, a team of 120 police personnel from Singha Durbar, Maligaun, Municipal Police, Traffic Police, and the Disaster Management Division were deployed.
KATHMANDU: The fire that broke out in the Social Welfare Council’s warehouse at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-29 and the National Disability Fund’s warehouse containing artificial human organs was put out in less than five hours.
According to the Kathmandu District Police Office, the fire began at 2.30 p.m. and was extinguished at 7.15 p.m.
According to the police, eight fire brigades and 30 water tankers were used to control the fire, including one from Kathmandu Metropolitan City (Juddha Barud Yantra), one from Boudha Ramhiti, one from Lalitpur Metropolitan City, one from Bhaktapur Municipality, two from Nepal Army, one from Tribhuvan Airport, and one from Nepal Police.
To control the fire, a team of 120 police personnel from Singha Durbar, Maligaun, Municipal Police, Traffic Police, and the Disaster Management Division were deployed.
Likewise, approximately 100 security personnel from the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Disaster Management Battalion, and Armed Police Force Gulm Bagh Bhairav have been deployed.
Thirty municipal police officers from Kathmandu Metropolitan City were dispatched.
Although preliminary information indicates that there was no loss of life or material property worth crores of rupees as a result of the fire, specifics have yet to be received.
The investigation is still ongoing, according to Senior Superintendent of Police Bharat Bahadur Bohara, as the cause of the fire has not been revealed.
