Chances of heavy rain in four states

KATHMANDU: Heavy rains are expected in four states across the country.

The monsoon system’s effect may cause light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali States, including the hilly areas of State 1 and Bagmati, as well as the rest of the country.

Heavy rains are also expected in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and one or two places in Karnali, according to the Department of Water and Meteorology.

The department has stated that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places of Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali and the rest of the hilly terrain of State 1 and Bagmati.

Due to the possibility of heavy rains in one or two areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali, as well as soil erosion in hilly areas, the department has urged everyone to remain cautious as there is a risk of landslides and gegran drift, as well as rising water levels in rivers and streams, which could disrupt daily life and transportation.

There is currently light to moderate rain in Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and a few other places in the Far Western States.

There is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms/lightning in some hilly areas of the country and a small part of the rest of the country.
