Election of Deputy Speaker of HoR to be held on Friday

KATHMANDU: The election for the vacant post of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) is scheduled to be held on July 15.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota informed the HoR on Wednesday that the election would be held on the same day. He has directed Gopal Nath Yogi, Secretary of the Federal Parliament, to publish the election program.

Nominations for the post of Deputy Speaker will be accepted on Thursday. The nomination period for the position of Deputy Speaker has been extended from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday.

The election for deputy speaker is set for 3 p.m. on Friday at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor. For a long time, the position of Deputy Speaker has been vacant.
