Preparing to hold election of Deputy Speaker

KATHMANDU: The election of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) is currently underway.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota decided to make the election schedule public at today’s meeting of the HoR.

The Speaker will fix the date and time for the election of the Deputy Speaker of the HoR as per Rule 8 of the Rules of the HoR, 2075 BS, according to the HoR daily agenda on Wednesday.

Speaker Sapkota will announce the Deputy Speaker selection process during the HoR current meeting.

The position of Deputy Speaker has been vacant for nearly three years, following the resignation of the previous Deputy Speaker, Shiva Maya Tumbahamphe.
