KATHMANDU: Nepali citizens who have not yet registered their names on the voter list can now do so using online technology.
The Election Commission has announced that the voter list can now be registered online, making the task of compiling the voter list with photos easier.
According to the commission’s spokesperson, Shaligram Sharma Poudel, the commission will develop a web-based voter registration system using Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur as a model.
Citizens who have not yet registered their names in the voter list with a photo can do so online at https://election.gov.np/np.
Following that, the commission stated that the concerned district election office should be contacted to take a photo and provide a thumbprint by bringing a print copy and other necessary documents with the code number specified in the online form.
The Commission has also requested that citizens who have not yet registered their names on the voters’ roll use this online service to ensure their right to vote.
