Chances of heavy rains in four states, urge caution

KATHMANDU: The monsoon has caused partially to normal cloud cover across the country this morning, according to meteorologists.

Light rain is occurring in some areas of State 1, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Far-Western States, according to the Department of Water and Meteorology.

The country will have partial to normal cloud cover in the afternoon. There is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of the country’s hilly areas as well as the rest of the country.

Heavy rain is possible in one or two areas of State 1, Gandaki, and Lumbini, both in the Far Western States.

According to the department, there will be partial to normal change across the country tomorrow. Light to moderate rain is possible in a few areas of the country. Heavy rain is possible in one or two locations in the far western region.

In hilly areas, there is a risk of landslides and gegran drift. It has urged people to take precautions because the water level in rivers and streams may rise, disrupting daily life and the transportation sector.
