Nepal loses to Namibia

KATHMANDU: Nepal has lost to Namibia in the ICC Cricket World Cup II. Nepal lost to Namibia by 40 runs in last night’s match.
Nepal lost the game after scoring only 180 runs in 46.5 overs while chasing Namibia’s target of 221 runs. Nepal’s top scorer was Aarif Sheikh, who scored 50 runs, followed by Dev Khanal (34), Kushal Bhurtel (27), Karan KC (19), and Aasif Sheikh (14). Rohit Poudel (0) and Dipendra Singh Airee (4) were also out.
Namibia, who had won the toss and elected to bat, were bowled out for 220 in 47.3 overs. Jan Nicol led Namibia in scoring with 60 runs, while Divan la Cock added 41. Craig Williams and captain Gerhard Erasmus each scored 22 runs.
Sandeep Lamichhane of Nepal has taken a total of four wickets. In 10 overs, Sandeep took four wickets for 54 runs. Sompal Kami also took two wickets, while Karan KC, Basir Ahmed, and Dipendra Singh Airee each took one.
Namibia has 16 points in 16 games and has risen to fifth place as a result of this victory. Similarly, Nepal has 15 points in 17 games and has fallen to sixth place. Nepal will now face Scotland on Wednesday.
