KATHMANDU: ESewa Money Transfer, an F1 Soft Group digital remittance company, has entered into an agreement with UAE-based money transfer and foreign exchange company Lulu International Exchange to increase transactions from the UAE to Nepal.

ESewa and LuLu Exchange will leverage the potential of their combined network to provide greater flexibility and convenience to Nepalese ex-pats in the UAE through this collaboration.

Ajesh Koirala, CEO of eSewa Money Transfer, and Thampi Sudarsanan, Assistant Vice President of Lulu International Exchange, signed the agreement.

Mr. Koirala stated on the occasion, “We are delighted to establish a remittance partnership with Lulu International Exchange, a well-known company in the UAE for foreign exchange and global money transfer.” With this collaboration, we hope to provide Nepalese working in the UAE with a fast, convenient, and secure remittance service at a low cost, and also bring smiles to their family members back home in Nepal”.

“The Nepal corridor has seen tremendous growth in recent years, with more Nepalese making the UAE their second home,” said Mr. Thampi Sudarsanan. We are committed to this partnership with eSewa as one of the UAE’s largest remittance service providers, which allows us to deploy our technology and regional network for the convenience of our Nepali customers. We are confident that this collaboration will benefit our Nepalese customers and bring our services to them even closer.”

According to the agreement, Nepalese ex-pats can send money to Nepal via any of the 84 Lulu International Exchange branches in the UAE, or digitally via the LuLu money app.

The sender has three options for remitting money: (1 directly loading the eSewa wallet, which is used by over 5 million customers in Nepal, 2) depositing money directly into 60+ bank accounts, and 3) remitting cash to beneficiaries, which can then be collected from over 10,000 cash pick-up agents and 100,000 eSewa cash points across Nepal.

Furthermore, the beneficiary will receive a cash bonus of up to NRs. 77, with the money arriving directly in their eSewa wallet.

Furthermore, those who send money will be automatically enrolled in eSewa’s ongoing new year campaign,’remitutsav,’ in which one person will be eligible to win NRs. 5000 daily and one lucky winner will receive NRs. 50,000 at the end of the campaign.
