Two more cholera cases detected
People have been advised to drink boiled water or water that has been purified with chlorine liquid.
KATHMANDU: Two more people have been diagnosed with cholera. Cholera patients were found in Hetauda and Changunarayan Municipalities, according to Dr Chuman Lal Das, Director of Epidemiology and Disease Control Division under the Ministry of Health and Population.
They are both currently undergoing treatment. He added that the total number of cholera patients has now reached 21.
People have been advised to drink boiled water or water that has been purified with chlorine liquid. The Health Ministry urged everyone to take precautions against cholera.
Basanta Adhikari, Chief of the District Health Office in Kathmandu, stated that cholera cases have increased due to the consumption of coliform mixed water.
A coliform bacterium was detected in course of conducting test of drinking water of four places of Kirtipur, he added.
