KATHMANDU: Janardan Sharma, the Finance Minister, has resigned.
Addressing the parliament, Finance Minister Sharma said that he had resigned due to questions raised against him.
Finance Minister Sharma resigned after questions were raised about the involvement of unauthorized individuals in budget preparation. After questions were raised about the finance minister’s working style, the main opposition party, the CPN (UML), demanded his resignation.
Similarly, an 11-member special parliamentary committee was formed today to investigate him.
