KATHMANDU: A parliamentary committee will be formed to investigate Finance Minister Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’.
The parties agreed to form a parliamentary committee during a discussion initiated by Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota.
Finance Minister Sharma has been chastised for raising tax rates in favor of unregistered business owners.
The CPN (UML), the main opposition party, has demanded that the Finance Minister resign from the House.
The UML has demanded that members of the committee be appointed in accordance with the presence of the House of Representatives (HoR).
Simultaneously, CPN (UML) has demanded leadership. The ruling and allied parties have not yet agreed on it.
