Hima Basnet of Dhankuta nominated as a member of the state assembly

KATHMANDU: Following Gulephun Khatun’s resignation, Hima Basnet Bhattarai of Dhankuta has been nominated as a proportional candidate.

The CPN-UML has chosen to nominate UML leader Basnet to fill the open proportional seat in the party, according to the UML parliamentary party. With effect from June 29, Khatun, a member of the CPN-proportional UML’s representation in the state assembly, resigned from the position.

Basnet has become an MP from the Khas Arya quota as there is no other woman on the closed list from the minority quota. Hikmat Kumar Karki, a member of the CPN-State UML’s 1 Committee and the UML Standing Committee, reported that Basnet had received the letter from the Election Commission.
