Disputes in Dhangadhi Municipal Council
The elected council members from the UML and UCPN (Maoist) have squandered their seats after Rana warned them not to allow the municipal council to function.
KATHMANDU: The third meeting of the 8th Municipal Assembly of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitian created a dispute. The dispute began when Deputy Mayor Kandakala Rana stated that the budget booklet was published without his approval.
According to Deputy Mayor Rana, Mayor Gopal Hamal and the administrative officer published the budget booklet [red book] without consulting anyone. Deputy Mayor Rana has complained that such employees insult him as well.
The elected council members from the UML and UCPN (Maoist) have squandered their seats after Rana warned them not to allow the municipal council to function.
The Congress party has expressed support for the mayor’s budget booklet. The municipal council meeting has been postponed due to the dispute. The Municipal Council’s life has been halted as a result of the dispute.
