Three killed, one rescued in landslide in Panchthar

KATHMANDU: A landslide in Panchthar district’s Phalelung killed three people. According to police, three people were killed in a landslide in Bidin, Phalelung Municipality-7.

One person trapped in the landslide has been rescued by police. Rains caused a landslide that destroyed Rup Lal Magar’s three-storey house and cattle shed. Dal Prasad Magar, Rup Lal’s uncle, was rescued by a police team from Bidin Police Station and the District Police Office in Panchthar.

The bodies of Rup Lal Magar, 55, and his wife Goma Magar, 42, as well as Alisha Magar, 19, Dal Prasad’s granddaughter, were found buried in the landslide this morning.

Magar’s house was washed away due to rain on Friday night. Police team deployed in the rescue operation since Friday found the body this morning.
