Youth death case in Achham: Traffic closed by five parties
The youth who went missing on May 13 during a clash between Nepali Congress and UML cadres during the local level election was found dead.
KATHMANDU: Since Sunday morning, five political parties, including the CPN-UML, have blocked traffic in Achham.
They have shut down traffic in the district in protest of the police failing to arrest the accused in the death of Binod Shahi, 17, of Panchadewal Binayak Municipality-4.
On Saturday, the CPN-UML, the Maoist Center, the Unified Socialist Party, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and the Biplav-led CPN (UML) issued a joint statement announcing a two-day traffic closure on Sunday and Monday.
“In the name of power and authority, we have been forced to completely shut down public transportation on July 3 and 4 so that the perpetrators are not acquitted,” said the joint statement.
