Hundreds of people rallied for drinking water after Mayor Sampang himself stepped forward

KATHMANDU: Under the leadership of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan Mayor Harka Sampang, hundreds of locals worked for drinking water at Pakuwakhola in Dharan-20. They are assigned to go to the river every Saturday and carry stones to the source of drinking water and make a ‘intake.’
Tree planting has also been done in the same area on Saturday. In the Pakuwakhola area, approximately 250 different species of fruits and bamboo plants have been planted. Dharan has recently experienced a water shortage. Mayor Sampang has made finding drinking water sources a top priority in order to address the drinking water shortage.
He stated that an intake is being constructed to collect Pakuwakhola water. He has been concerned about drinking water management since he was elected mayor on an independent after raising the issue of drinking water.
