Possibility of heavy rains in these states, urged to remain vigilant

KATHMANDU: The Department of Water and Meteorology predicts light to moderate rain, thunder, and lightning in many parts of the country over the next 24 hours.
Light to moderate rain is falling in many parts of the country this morning, according to the weather service. Today, heavy rain is possible in State 1, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and one or two places in the Far Western State.

There is a risk of landslides and gegran drift in hilly areas. The department has urged people to take precautions as the water level in rivers, streams, and creeks may rise, affecting the transportation sector. Monsoon winds are currently affecting the entire country.
The monsoon low-pressure line is higher than usual (close to the southern part of Nepal). The monsoon has become more active as a result of this.
