Education Minister calls for linking investment in education with country’s development
The university should produce disciplined human resources by linking Buddhist education with a modern one, he said.
KATHMANDU: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Paudel has stressed the need for linking investment in education with the country’s development.
Increasing the budget in education should reflect achievements through university, he said while underscoring the need for creating an environment conducive to connecting university’s products with the country’s development.
The minister was speaking at a convocation ceremony of the Lumbini Buddhist University today. Minister Paudel is also the pro-chancellor of the university. The university should produce disciplined human resources by linking Buddhist education with a modern one, he said.
There is a need for the university to produce competitive workforces at home and abroad so as to make the country economically self-reliant and contribute to the national economy, he emphasized. “For this, the university should not compromise on quality education.”
An environment should be created conducive for employing products from the university as a tourist guide for Buddhist sites including Lumbini where tourists visit in the context when the country lacks qualified human resources for the same, he said.
